I had the privilege of reading Kitty’s book shortly after getting to know her. I was impressed with the tenderness, which she spoke of her son and their relationship from his birth thru his passing.

CHIP’S SEARCH FOR LOVE is a compelling and stirring book. My capsule critique: A searing book. With verbal strokes we get to really know Chip as his mother paints the canvas of his life. The

I really appreciated this book a lot. I am a super religious person and I felt that I should read it. It taught me a great deal of things–first and foremost, it taught me love.

Dear Kitty: You’ve braved “the bitter grief” and through reading your book I have vicariously come to “understand” some measure of this bravery. From title page to final page the one overriding theme, surpassing all

On the undertaking of reading “Ultimate Love” by Kitty Caley, this would not have been my next choice of books to read except for the fact that I know her personally and I was interested in her story. Kitty is a rare kind of mother that EVERY child deserves and should have had “in a perfect world” and is a gifted writer. “Ultimate Love” brings out every emotion: envy, dread, happiness, sadness, anger, empathy, and joy. I have felt inspired and am motivated to be a better person having read it, and am honored to have a friend like Kitty. The devotion Kitty showed for her son Chip is so rare, one cannot help being envious and awestruck. The love and respect Kitty shows in her relationships is the same love and respect that is missing in today’s culture. Chip must have been a splendid child and young man who I would have been proud to know and call my friend. I think any person over the age of 12 should read “Ultimate Love”.

Kitty, I read your book last night. I couldn’t put it down. What a sad but lovely story of the love between you and your precious son. It sounds like he was a very strong and loving person. I can see why you are anxious to get your tender message out.

I’ll talk to you next week.

Kitty, Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. Although I had my own experience with those dark days, reading your story made me realize in a new way how dreadful those times really were for those who suffered directly from this disease.

Chip was very fortunate to have you for his mother and I shudder to think of how much more painful his experience might have been without the constant support and nurturing that you gave him. So many others were shunned by their families, their neighbors, and their friends and die believing the lie, believing that somehow they deserved what they got because they were immoral and defective. I knew many.

With the Supreme Court’s historic ruling on same-sex marriage, we move closer as a society towards true equality. We may still be a long way off from changing the hearts and the minds of our persecutors, but the tide is running and I find solace in that.

Thank you again for sharing your story with me and with others.

Our compliments on a fantastic book that touched both my daughters and me in many ways. You put a lot of perspective on both parent and child. So much love within the family structure. Both daughters said, “They would be very proud to have a Mother like you were to Chip”. Our greatest respect to you always.
